01About these terms

These terms apply to orders placed with Creek View Minerals, LLC (Hoover, Alabama) through this website, by phone, email or message. By placing an order you agree to them. Our Shipping & Returns policy and Privacy Policy are part of these terms.

02Natural specimens

Rocks, minerals, geodes, fossils, petrified wood and shells are natural objects, and no two are exactly alike.

• Photos show a representative or actual specimen. Color can look slightly different on different screens.
• Sizes and weights are approximate.
• Grab Bag and Bargain Box contents vary from one to the next. The number of pieces is as described, but the exact mix is a surprise.
• Natural marks, inclusions, small chips and rough edges are part of a specimen’s character and are not defects.

03Legal sourcing and labels

Every specimen we sell is legally sourced, from our own collecting on private land with permission, wholesale shows, auctions, estates or trades. We do not sell protected species or material collected illegally from public land.

We label each specimen with its name and, if known, its locality, as accurately as we can. If you believe a label is wrong, tell us and we will look into it.

04Collectible use only

Specimens are sold as collectibles for display and study. We make no health, healing or metaphysical claims about any item.

05Prices and availability

Prices are in US dollars. Because many items are one of a kind, availability can change quickly, especially around show weekends. John confirms the item, price and shipping cost before you pay. If an item is no longer available or a price was shown in error, we will tell you and you will not be charged.

06Placing an order

You can order by using the contact form, by email or by phone. Your order is confirmed once John has confirmed it with you and payment has been received.

07Payment

John will tell you the accepted payment methods when he confirms your order. Payment is due before the order ships. Alabama sales tax is added where required by law.

08Shipping, returns and our guarantee

We ship within the continental United States. Shipping costs, delivery, damage in transit and returns are covered in our Shipping & Returns policy.

We stand behind everything we sell. If something is not right, contact John and he will make it right.

09Safety

• Small parts: Grab Bags and many specimens contain small pieces. They are not toys and are not for children under 3.
• UV flashlights: Shortwave UV can harm eyes and skin. Never look into the beam or shine it at people or animals, wear UV-blocking glasses, keep shortwave UV flashlights away from children, and supervise young collectors using any UV light. See the safety notes on our Fluorescent & UV page.
• Some minerals should not be licked, ingested or handled by young children. Wash your hands after handling specimens.

10Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, our total responsibility for any claim related to an order is limited to the amount you paid for that order. We are not responsible for indirect losses. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under consumer law that cannot be waived.

11Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Alabama. If a disagreement cannot be settled by talking with John, it will be handled by the courts located in Alabama.

12Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version shown here on the day you place your order is the one that applies.
